Who Benefits?

The annual Loaves and Fishes Gala benefits the Franciscan Ministries at the Basilica of St. Josaphat.

More than a hundred years ago, the Basilica was built with the meager resources of Polish immigrants and recycled building materials from the Chicago Federal Building. Through the years, an enduring creative and dedicated spirit has allowed the Basilica to be the home of various Franciscan Ministries of outreach and awe-inspiring cultural events. Through the ministry of the Franciscans, the Basilica has been a beacon of hope in the city of Milwaukee.

With a weekly food pantry and an ongoing ESL (English as a Second Language) Program, the Franciscans Ministries at the Basilica instill a sense of hope in the local community. Through these and other programs, the needs of many are met with dignity and care.

The St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation assists the Franciscans with the preservation and maintenance of the Basilica. Among the current projects is a major lighting upgrade for the interior and exterior of the Basilica. Your help is needed to keep this beacon of hope burning brightly.
